Meditation
Phoenix Meditation teaches people who have never meditated, as well as those with previous experience who would like to deepen their practice. Meditation is not about sitting in uncomfortable positions and forcing the mind to be quiet (which is impossible). Meditation is simply the process of turning our attention inward, toward the place of calm, quiet, inherently joyful centeredness that already exists in every one of us.
People use meditation to enhance physical well being, calm emotional turbulence, break out of habitual behavior patterns and explore different states of consciousness. There are many types of meditation. Some have been practiced for thousands of years. Some are relatively new.
What most meditations have in common is they promote relaxation, and they turn our attention inward. In our high paced society, most of our time is spent focused on our external lives, filled with people, activity, sights and sound. Many of us experience the effects of stress in our bodies and emotions. Meditation allows us to disconnect from all the stimulus in order to rest, heal, and rejuvenate our entire being. While meditation can be pleasurable, the real reason to meditate is to feel better physically and emotionally outside of meditation, to experience more joy and fulfillment in our lives.

Primordial Sound Meditation
Primordial Sound Meditation is a technique rooted in the Vedic tradition of India and was revived by Chopra Center co-founders Dr. Deepak Chopra and Dr. David Simon. You will receive a personal mantra, which is a specific sound or vibration, which when repeated silently, helps you to enter deeper levels of awareness. Primordial Sound Meditation is taught on an individual basis.

"Meditation is not a way of making your mind quiet. It's a way of entering into the quiet that's already there—buried under the 50,000 thoughts the average person thinks every day."
